	Greetings, The Alpha Omega Chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., announces our 2012 Annual Talent Hunt Program to celebrate the 90 years of the community service. The Annual Talent Hunt Program is implemented to recognize and provide a forum for exceptionally talented high school students. The Talent Hunt Program is one of several national programs designed to identify and support the youth of our community, nation, and the world. The need for such a program was born out of the unequal opportunity afforded to some American youth to develop and give full expression to their talents. The Talent Hunt Program has been one of our Fraternity's national mandated programs since 1946. Event Schedule: Application Deadline (fax/email): Thursday, February 9, 2012 Auditions (applications accepted onsite): Saturday, February 11, 2012, 3:00 PM Competition: Saturday, March 17, 2012, 3:00 PM NOTE: You must audition to be eligible for participation in the Competition. We strongly encourage the public's attendance and participation at the March 2012 Talent Hunt Program/Competition. The event is FREE!
	COMPETITION CATEGORIES: MUSIC - Vocal Classical, Semi-Classical, Gospel, R&B, Hip-Hop, and Jazz MUSIC - Vocal Vocal and Instrumental, Classical, Semi-Classical, Gospel, and Jazz INTERPRETIVE MOVEMENT TO MUSIC Ballet, Modern Dance, and Tap SPEECH Poetry, Dramatic Readings, Orations, and Monologues To be eligible, applicants must be high school students enrolled in Washington, DC charter, public, private or parochial schools. Participants must provide any necessary accompaniment. Duets and groups are not eligible. All performances are limited to six (6) minutes. Time limitation will be enforced. All performances must be memorized and the use of microphones is not permitted during performance. Email/fax applications must be postmarked no later than February 9, 2012. Walk-in applications will be accepted during the February 11th audition.. We have implemented a tracking system of our participants; advertise participants’ events; encourage graduates to provide guidance and assistance to current participants; and provide a workshop for participants to perfect their performances. We maintain our Committee website and accept opportunities to assist the DC schools, Scholarship and the Social Action Committees.
